Disaster Recovery is a subset of Business Continuity, dealing with the recovery of IT assets after a disruptive event. A disaster recovery plan becomes a critical part of the business infrastructure as it focuses on the recovery of any IT related infrastructure.

These all make up the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) which is a live document that needs to be revisited at regular intervals.
